Grey Ironbark
Grey Ironbark is one of the strongest and most durable timbers available in Australia. It is common along the east coast of NSW & Queensland and has be favoured as a heavy engineering timber for many years used as wharf decking, railway sleepers, bridge beams and shipbuilding.
Spotted Gum
Spotted Gum is a favourite timber of many specifiers. Common along the east coast from the Victoria/NSW border right up to Maryborough in Queensland. It is used extensively for telegraph poles, machinery, shipbuilding, axe handles and other products subject to 'high impact' forces.
Blackbutt
Blackbutt also commonly grows along the east coast from the Victoria/NSW border up to around Maryborough in Queensland.
Lighter in colour than either Ironbark or Spotted Gum, it is still a very durable timber, lending itself quite well to use as poles, sleepers and heavy structural purposes.
